Fake data generator
Describe the columns you need in plain words, and get up to 25 rows of invented test data. Copy or download it as CSV or JSON.
How it works
Your field list goes to a free AI model through OpenRouter. The model returns rows as JSON, and the page shows them as a table and converts them to CSV in your browser. Because a language model writes the rows, it can follow descriptions that a fixed generator can't, such as "a product review that mentions shipping".
Each visitor can make 5 data sets a day, and the site has a shared daily limit, because the free models have one. Every value is invented, but check the rows before you use them. A model can repeat values or miss the format you asked for.
When to use a library instead
For thousands of rows, repeatable output or data inside automated tests, a fake data library is the better fit:
- Faker for JavaScript and Faker for Python make names, addresses, dates and more in code, and give the same rows each time when you set a seed.
- Mockaroo builds large CSV, JSON and SQL files from a schema you set up field by field.
This dummy data generator is quicker for a small, realistic sample, such as rows for a design mockup, a demo or a bug report.
Frequently asked questions
Is the data real?
No. Every value is invented by the AI model. The model is told not to use real people, real contact details or real account numbers.
How many rows can I generate?
Up to 25 rows at a time, and up to 5 data sets a day for each visitor.
Can I download the fake data as CSV?
Yes. Choose CSV or JSON as the format, then press Download or Copy.
What is the difference between mock data, dummy data and fake data?
The three terms are used for the same thing: invented data that looks real, used for testing, demos and design mockups.
When should I use Faker or Mockaroo instead?
Use a library like Faker, or Mockaroo, when you need thousands of rows, repeatable output or data inside automated tests.
