Glitch text generator
Type your text and get glitchy, cursed-looking Zalgo text. Choose how heavy the glitch is, then copy it when you want weird or scary-looking text for a post, a name or a meme.
How glitch text works
Glitch text, also called Zalgo, cursed, creepy or scary text, stacks Unicode combining marks on every letter. Combining marks are characters such as accents that attach to the letter before them. Normally a letter carries one or two. This generator adds several above, through and below each letter, so the text seems to drip and spill over the line.
The marks are picked at random, so each press of "Glitch again" gives a different result. The light level adds 2 marks above and 2 below each letter. The heavy level adds 6 above, 6 below and one through the middle.
Things to know before you paste it
- Heavy glitch text can cover the lines above and below it, and some apps cut it off or remove the marks.
- Each letter becomes many characters, so a short phrase can hit a character limit, such as a username or bio limit.
- Screen readers read glitch text badly or not at all, so don't use it for anything people need to read.
