Random address generator
Generate random US addresses to fill test forms, mockups and sample databases. Each one has a made-up street line and a real city with its state and ZIP code, so it passes simple format checks.
How the addresses are made
Each random street address in the USA joins a random house number from 100 to 9899, a common street name such as Maple or Lincoln, and a street type such as St, Ave or Ln. About one in four gets an apartment number. The city comes from a list of 64 US cities across 46 states, and each city has the real ZIP code of its downtown area, so the city, state and ZIP match each other.
The street line is made up, so the full address is not meant to point to a real home. Common street names exist in many towns, so a generated address can match a real one by chance. Don't send anything to these addresses.
Everything runs in your browser. The addresses are not stored or sent anywhere.
Good uses for a fake address
- Creating a fake address to fill address fields while you build or test a sign-up, checkout or shipping form.
- Seeding a test database or a demo account with realistic-looking rows. The CSV and JSON formats paste straight into a spreadsheet or code.
- Showing a customer record in a mockup, a screenshot or a training video without showing a real customer.
The addresses are for testing and design only. Using a made-up address to deceive a business or a government office can be illegal. For names, emails and other test fields as well, use the fake data generator.
Frequently asked questions
Are these real addresses?
No. The street line is made up, and the city, state and ZIP code are real. A generated address can match a real one by chance, so don't send mail to it.
Can I get a random address in a specific state?
Yes. Choose the state in the State list. The list has 46 states, each with one or more cities.
Do the ZIP codes match the cities?
Yes. Each city uses the real ZIP code of its downtown area, so the city, state and ZIP code agree.
Can I download the addresses as CSV or JSON?
Yes. Choose CSV or JSON as the format and press Copy. The CSV has a header row with street, unit, city, state and zip.
Is the random address generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and has no limit.
