How mirror text works
Unicode has no mirrored alphabet, so the generator swaps each letter for a character that looks like it flipped left to right. Some letters swap with a partner, such as b and d or p and q. Others have a reversed look-alike: e becomes ɘ, R becomes Я, N becomes И and S becomes Ꙅ. Letters that look the same in a mirror, such as A, H, M, O, T, V, W and X, stay as they are. Then the order of the letters is reversed.
The result is plain text, so you can paste it into a chat, a bio or a document. Some of the look-alike characters come from rare Unicode blocks, and older devices may show them as boxes.
Mirror, backwards and upside down text

How to mirror text in Word
Word can mirror any text exactly, with no look-alike characters:
- Insert a text box (Insert, Text Box) and type your text in it.
- Right-click the box's border and choose Format Shape.
- Under Effects, open 3-D Rotation and set X Rotation to 180°.
To print a mirror image of a whole page, as for iron-on transfers, check the printer's own options for a "mirror" or "flip horizontal" setting.
